This is a first level prototype for the idea of a 2d platformer called "Gnort: The Shadow Goblin". Art was co-created with @ghostcookies. Feel free to leave some feedback and/or criticism about design, art, or anything that could be improved on. It takes around 10-20 minutes to play through to the end. Thanks for Playing!

Also, if you're interested, check out the devlog post I made on this game to hear about some of the design choices I made when creating the level.

EDIT: I changed the end of the spike cave area to be easier and I fixed a testing bug with camera switching.

Hey.. Really nice! Didn't finish the game but it was good.
This can benefit from some addition of game feel elements... particularly some feedback like when you reach a new totem the skull could flip or light up or turn green, to indicate you have reached a new checkpoint...
The shadow mechanic was nice... It took some time to get a hang of it but after that it was fun.

hey thanks for your reply! I definitely could make the reaching the totem more noticeable that’s a good point. Also, can I ask why you didn’t finish? Was it because you got stuck in the level or is it because it just took up too much time? Regardless, I appreciate you playing the game and thanks for the feedback!

Hmm... a good question... Well, for one thing, at that moment I didn't have that much time, and I just wanted to check the game out.
Secondly, when I reached the first few checkpoints I felt I figured out what the game is all and didn't interest me that much too. I was getting killed too, so I realized I need to spend more time on it to get used to the controls. But like I said earlier, I felt there's nothing new going to come in the future levels.

Later when I closed the game and I started checking out the screenshots, I saw the boss fight and stuff... That I did find interesting... and decided to come back to this later... So mostly the lack of time and little bit of now know what to expect out of the game.

Thanks for your reply I'm glad you found the game charming. As for the spike cave, maybe it was a little too hard so that is something I would consider changing. And I probably should fix that tag too lol.

very nice game 10/10
